Product Overview

A thermocouple temperature probe uses the thermoelectric effect to measure temperature through two different metal wires joined at one end, generating a voltage corresponding to temperature differences.

Construction
  • Wires: Made of two different conductive metals (copper, nickel, chromel, alumel)
  • Junction: Measuring (hot) junction where wires join, connected to measuring device (cold junction)
  • Insulation: High-temperature resistant materials (ceramic, fiberglass)

Working Principle

Based on the Seebeck Effect: when two different metals are joined and exposed to temperature gradient, a thermoelectric voltage is produced at the junction. This voltage relates to the temperature difference and is converted into temperature readings using calibration data.
